A small VS Code extension to enable, disable, or remove all breakpoints scoped to the file you are working in, to every other file, or to the whole workspace.
Useful when you have breakpoints scattered across many files and want to silence (or isolate) just the one you're working in, without losing the others.
Features
- Status bar counter: shows enabled/disabled breakpoint counts for the active file. Click it to open an action menu.
- Editor title button: when the active file has breakpoints, a toolbar button toggles them all on or off in one click.
- Line number context menu: right-click a line number in the gutter for the full set of enable, disable, and remove actions, scoped to this file, other files, or everything.
- Isolate a single breakpoint: right-click the line number of a breakpoint and choose Disable All Other Breakpoints (or the in This File variant) to leave just that one active.
- Preserves breakpoint settings: enabling/disabling keeps each breakpoint's condition, hit count, and log message intact.
Commands
Open the Command Palette (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + P) and run:
| Command | Scope |
|---|---|
| Toggle All Breakpoints in This File | Active file |
| Enable All Breakpoints in This File | Active file |
| Disable All Breakpoints in This File | Active file |
| Remove All Breakpoints in This File | Active file |
| Enable All Breakpoints in Other Files | All other files |
| Disable All Breakpoints in Other Files | All other files |
| Remove All Breakpoints in Other Files | All other files |
The workspace-wide actions live in the line number context menu rather than the palette, since VS Code already provides its own equivalents there:
| Command | Scope |
|---|---|
| Enable All Breakpoints | Every file |
| Disable All Breakpoints | Every file |
| Remove All Breakpoints | Every file |
| Disable All Other Breakpoints | Every breakpoint except the clicked one |
| Disable All Other Breakpoints in This File | Active file, except the clicked one |
Requirements
VS Code 1.75.0 or newer.
