High in the mountains, where the bamboo grows so thick the sun barely touches the ground, there lived a panda who could not sleep.
Every night he sat at the edge of the grove, watching. Not looking for anything particular — just watching the way the moonlight turned the leaves silver, the way the mist crept up from the valley like something breathing.
One morning, long before dawn, he found a clearing he had never seen before. The ground was white with frost. The trees around it were dark, bare, perfectly still. And in the middle of it all, a single red flower.
He sat down in front of it. He didn't touch it. He just looked — at the one bright thing in all that grey and black and white. And somehow, that was enough. That was everything.
The world doesn't need colour everywhere. Just in the right places.
