A calm dark theme for VS Code. Built to highlight important stuff in code without turning your editor into a rainbow.

Highlights

  • Layered dark surfaces — chrome (sidebar, activity bar, title bar, status bar, terminal) sits at #1a1a1a; the editor and inputs sit one step lighter at #161616, so the working area stands out without harsh contrast.
  • Muted blue accent (#5996db) in place of the default bright blue — used for selection, focus, keywords, and badges.
  • Warm strings (#dec078) and a bold calm purple (#956ccc) for punctuation: operators, brackets, and , ; . :, so the structure of a line reads at a glance.
  • Tuned across languages — JSON, Markdown, shell/bash, Python, JS/TS, CSS, and more.
  • Semantic highlighting enabled, with strikethrough for deprecated symbols.

  1. Open the Extensions view (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+X).
