An ADHD accessibility extension that applies Bionic Reading formatting (bolded anchors) to markdown, text files, and comments dynamically inside VS Code.

Features

  • Text & Comment Bolding: Applies Bionic Reading anchor styling to visible words in Markdown, plaintext, and code comments.
  • Wide Language Support: Activates for Markdown, plaintext, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, shell script, and related editor text.
  • Toggle Hotkey: Toggle bionic reading mode anytime using Ctrl+Alt+B (or Cmd+Alt+B on macOS).
  • Auto Activation: Activates automatically on supported editors and can also be triggered manually via the command palette.

How to use

  • Command Palette: run "Toggle Bionic Reading Mode" or select the Toggle Bionic Reading Mode command under the "Bionic Reader" category.
  • Hotkey: press Ctrl+Alt+B (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+Alt+B (macOS) to toggle on/off.
  • Auto-enable: the extension activates automatically when you open supported file types; use the toggle to enable decorations.
  • Troubleshooting: open "Help → Toggle Developer Tools" in VS Code and check the Console for errors if decorations do not appear.
