Stop your screen from dimming, sleeping, or locking while you're working in VSCode.
No more losing your train of thought because the screen went dark during a long build, a slow test run, or while you're just reading code. One click and your display stays on for as long as VSCode is open — no more, no less.
Features
- One-click toggle — a simple switch in the sidebar, on or off.
- Always in sync — works the same whether you have one window open or ten. Turn it on in one, it's on everywhere.
- Starts off by default — opening VSCode fresh never surprises you with the screen lock already disabled.
- Cleans up after itself — close all your VSCode windows and your normal power settings come right back. Nothing lingers in the background.
- Transparent status — see at a glance whether it's actually active, with a short activity log if you ever want to double check.
Getting started
- Install the extension.
- Click the lightning-bolt icon in the sidebar.
- Flip the switch on.
That's it — your screen will stay awake until you turn it off or close VSCode.
You can also toggle it from the Command Palette:
