A light and dark editor theme built on one rule: color means something, or it isn't used.

Design logic
Most themes decorate — a hue per token type, gradients on panels, glow on focus. This one works like the control face of a well-made instrument: a neutral body, one signal color reserved for what actually needs attention, and everything else quiet enough to disappear.
Palette (both themes share the same roles, remapped for contrast):
| Role | Light | Dark | Used for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paper / Graphite | #EDEBE3 |
#201F1D |
editor surface |
| Chrome | #E2DFD4 |
#1A1917 |
sidebar, status bar, tabs — one step off the paper |
| Ink | #24231F |
#E8E4D9 |
body text |
| Signal | #C6491C |
#E2652E |
keywords, cursor, active tab, errors, focus — the only saturated color, used sparingly |
| Dial | #4C6B75 |
#7FA3AC |
functions, types — a cool secondary, never competing with signal |
| Moss | #5F6F3F |
#93A66B |
strings |
| Amber | #8C6D2E |
#C99A46 |
numbers, constants, warnings |
Signal is the only color allowed to be loud. It marks the cursor, the active tab's top edge, keywords, and errors — the same way a single indicator lamp does on a well-designed panel, not a rainbow of equally-loud states. Structural characters (brackets, punctuation, operators) sit in muted ink so they read as scaffolding, not content. Line numbers nearly vanish until the active line pulls dial-blue.
