A fork of Oceanic Next (dimmed bg) with a refined dark UI.
Syntax highlighting is the original Oceanic Next TextMate scheme, untouched. Everything that changed is the workbench chrome:
- softer editor and tab-strip background (
#27292b) - unified sidebar / section headers (
#29292a) - calmer activity bar, title bar and status bar (
#2d2d2e) - widget and scrollbar shadows removed
- lower-contrast indent guides
Install
Search for Oceanic Next Dimmed+ in the Extensions view, or:
code --install-extension alekseydemchenko.oceanic-next-dimmed-plus
Then pick it in Ctrl+K Ctrl+T.
Customizing further
Tweak colors live via workbench.colorCustomizations scoped to this theme, so
other themes stay untouched:

When you are happy with the result, move the values into
themes/oceanic-next-dimmed-plus-color-theme.json, bump the version and publish.
